THE TOP three teams in the blink/bmobile National Super League remained the same after Sunday’s games on Match Day 18.
Defending champions Joe Public, Westside Superstarzs FC and WASA FC are all on 34 points, but Joe Public have a superior goal difference (plus-16) to Westside (plus-12) and WASA (plus-eight).
Joe Public needed an own goal, after 76 minutes, to defeat Siparia Spurs 1-0 at the Palo Seco Velodrome.
Westside rallied from an early deficit to take care of Club Sando 3-1 at the St Anthony’s College Ground, Westmoorings.
Andy London put Sando in front in the tenth minute but Westside equalised in the 39th through Raymond St Hilaire, while Troy Thompson netted twice in the second half (53rd and 88th).
WASA got a 34th minute winner from Jahhan Hernandez to defeat fourth-placed Stokely Vale 1-0 at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.
And Defence Force moved up from eighth to fifth on the points standings after a Kareem Charles item, in the 71st, ensured a 1-0 win over FC Santa Rosa, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium’s Training Field in Mucurapo.
The meeting between Eagles United and Real Maracas ended in a goalless draw at the Homeland Gardens Recreation Ground, Cunupia, while the contest between 1976 FC Phoenix and Biche United was cancelled due a waterlogged field at Canaan, Bon Accord.
Today will feature a pair of rescheduled games, both starting at 3.30 pm.
WASA will be visiting Eagles at at Homeland Gardens, with a chance to take pole position atop the standings, while Siparia will be entertaining Maracas at the Palo Seco Velodrome.
