The 15 teams contesting this year’s TTFA National Super League have been divided into two groups and both will commence their “Big-Eight” and relegation round-robin competitions on Wednesday.

The teams which finished within the top eight in the standings earlier this month will play each other once, following which the league champion will de determined.

The “Big-Eight” of Group A teams are Club Sando, Guaya United, WASA FC, Petrotrin Palo Seco, NLCB La Horquetta SA, Defence Force FC, 1976 FC Phoenix and Siparia Spurs.

Club Sando, which topped the standings after round one with 12 wins, one loss and one draw, will open the second round against reigning champion Guaya United. Guaya finished fourth.

Simultaneously, the bottom seven teams at the end of round one will play in a round-robin to determine the three teams to be relegated into their respective zones. The teams battling to avoid relegation are Real Maracas, Stokely Vale FC, Malabar FC, Coosal’s Las Lomas United, FC Santa Rosa, D’Lime Bar Goal City and Bethel United.

Action was originally scheduled to restart today, but all matches have been pushed forward to Wednesday due to complications with flights to and from Tobago. The Tobago Football Association (TFA) is hosting a triple-header of knockout finals today, during which the majority of referees in that zone will be occupied.
