CUNUPIA FC remained top of the nine-team National Super League Championship Division on Saturday, after a comefrom- behind 2-1 win over Youth Stars at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

Hakeem Legall put Youth Stars ahead in the ninth minute, but Cunupia FC responded with a double from Gorean Highley, in the 21st and 68th minutes.

Cunupia have a total of 25 points, followed by the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT ) with 21, Central 500 Spartans with 20, Barrackpore United with 17 and Saddle Hill with 16.

Rounding off the group are Youth Stars (12), TT Prisons FC, Petit Valley/Diego Martin United and Carenage United (11 each).

UTT moved back to second spot with a 6-0 trouncing of Carenage United at the Dibe Recreation Ground, Long Circular, St James.

Dillon Bartholomew (76th and 88th) scored twice, with a goal apiece from Dwayne Nicome (30th), Kevaughn Connell (55th), Weah Adams (62nd) and Mickel Holder (65th).

Saddle Hill Hotspur took care of Central 500 Spartans 3-1 at the Pascal Recreation Ground in Maraval. Cyrano Glen (44th) and Hakeem King (64th and 67th) netted for the hosts, while Husani Thomas (88th) replied for Central 500.

And, at the Diego Martin North Secondary School Ground, Petit Valley/Diego Martin United pipped Barrackpore United 2-1.

An own goal (74th) and Eric Charles (89th) proved vital for the hosts, with Mikheil Peters (81st) on target for Barrackpore.

League action will resume on November 5, after a week-long break due to Divali celebrations.
