The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) finally registered a victory in the 2008 bmobile National Super League when they earned a 3-0 win, by default, over Crab Connection as a quartet of rescheduled matches took place on Sunday.
The “Crabs,” who have undergone a troublesome season, failed to turn up at the Frederick Settlement Ground in Caroni, therefore handing the victory to the UTT squad who had only gathered one point after 23 matches.

The Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 team moved within one point of the defending champions and leaders WASA when they held off ALCOA Carenage United 2-1 in the first of back-to-back matches at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna.

Forward Trent Lougheed broke the deadlock in the 41st minute while defender Uriah Bentick doubled the advantage for the Under-20s in the 71st. Kareem Young created some late tension with a strike in the 76th but the national youth team held on for full points.

Another team in winners’ row, at the Tunapuna venue, was the “Eastern Lions” Joe Public, who got a pair from striker Christopher Sam (16th and 56th minutes) to defeat St Francois Nationals 2-0.

Defence Force needed to dig deep in order to overcome a tough fight from M&M Harvard 3-2 at the Defence Force Ground, Chaguaramas. Julius Balondemu put the Army-Coast Guard in front after 13 minutes but two goals early in the second-half from Duran Felician (49th) and Maurice Simpson (53rd) tilted the balance in Harvard’s favour. But there was to be a late twist to proceedings, as Kerwin Coa equalised in the 58th and Kevin Pierre netted the winner in the 86th.
