Club Sando have leapt to third place in the bmobile National Super League standings with a 5-1 thrashing of St Francois Nationals on Sunday at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
Sando were leading 2-1 after Gabriel St John struck for St Francois to pull his team within a goal of their opponents. Keith Williams (tenth and 46th minutes) had given Club Sando the lead with goals on either side of half time.

But Marlon Lewis restored the two-goal cushion in the 66th, before Williams (80th) secured his hat-trick, and Stefon Breton (82nd) put the match to bed with a late strike.

In other matches, Defence Force bounded into the top half of the table in sixth position, after an easy 3-0 win over Carenage United at Youth Camp, Chaguaramas, thanks in part to and Akil Pierre double.

Queen's Park Cricket Club beat Economy Strikers 4-0, while second-placed WASA stopped East West Coaching School 3-0.

Bmobile Joe Public's visit to 1976 FC Phoenix at Canaan Bon Accord in Tobago has been re-scheduled to next Wednesday.

Two matches for the next round, Match Day Nine, have been re-scheduled for August 2. Those fixtures pit T&TEC against Economy Strikers, and WASA versus Carenage United.

KEITH WILLIAMS notched a hat-trick as Club Sando hammered St Francois Nationals 5-1 at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva as the bmobile National Super League Match Day Eight took place on June 21.

Williams found the back of the net in the tenth, 46th and 80th minutes, while Marlon Lewis struck in the 66th and Stefon Brereton in the 82nd. Gabriel St John got the consolation item for St Francois in the 64th.

While Sando moved to third spot, WASA is now in second place, five points behind leaders Joe Public, after a 3-0 triumph over last-placed East/West Coaching School at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Arima. Stevon Stoute (17th), Michael-Lee Celestine (21st) and Fabian Garcia (80th) were the goal-getters for WASA, who took advantage of Economy Strikers’ poor record at home.

Economy, who started the day in second position, lost for the fourth time, in five matches, all at their home ground at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground.

Economy were trounced 4-0 by newcomers Queen’s Park, with Brendon Barry scoring twice (39th and 76th) while Jason Charles (21st) and Vladimir Suite (70th) chipping in with one apiece.

Akeil Pierre notched a double, in the 63rd and 73rd, while Sterling O’Brien sealed the deal in stoppage time, as Defence Force cruised past neighbours Carenage United 3-0 at the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas. M&M Harvard rebounded from an early setback to defeat Harlem Strikers 2-1 at Frederick Settlement in Caroni. Newell Redhead put the hosts ahead after five minutes before Kareem Freitas equalised in the 42nd and Garvin Gulston netted the winner in the 87th.
