DORION ROBINSON and Dexter Thornhill each netted a pair as Joe Public crushed Harlem Strikers 7-0 at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya as Match Day 18 of the bmobile National Super League took place on Wednesday.
Robinson started the goal-spree in the first minute, and doubled his, and the team’s tally, in the fourth.
Thornhill made it 3-0 for the league leaders in the 15th while Dorian Daniel got the team’s fourth item in the 20th, and Thornhill again was on target in the 26th.
The scoring died down until the 67th, when Anthony Thompson found the back of the net, and Michael Waldron completed the rout in the 85th.
TTEC stayed in second spot, two points adrift of the leaders, after they comfortably got past Carenage United 2-0 in the first of back-to-back encounters at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
Sylvester Teesdale (13th) and Tigana Sparks (85th) got their names on the score- sheet for the victors.
In the second match at Marabella, Jason Charles notched a last minute winner for Queen’s Park, who edged Club Sando 1-0 to jump to third place on the 12-team points standings.
Keron Edwards was the hero for St Francois Nationals, as he scored both goals in their shock 2-1 win over hosts Defence Force at the Army Base in Chaguaramas.
Edwards put St Francois ahead in the 54th minute but an own goal from Jesse Alexis tied the scores in the 81st, until Edwards snatched the winner for the visitors with four minutes of regulation time remaining.
WASA and Economy Strikers, who have both lingered in the middle of the pack, played to a 1-1 draw at the WASA Ground in St Joseph.
Joel Daniel put the hosts in front after 12 minutes before Selwyn Isaac netted the equaliser with a 28th minute penalty. Match Day 19 action will be staged on Sunday.
