Keston Jordon and Dorian Robinson got their names on the scoresheet on Sunday as leaders Joe Public whipped Harvard 2-0, to keep their six-point lead over TTEC, as Match Day 21 action of the Bmobile National Super League continued.

In the 19th minute, at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, Harvard nearly took the lead when a free-kick, taken from the right flank by Brian Wallace, struck the crossbar as goalkeeper Kerwyn Beckles was caught off-guard.

But Joe Public went ahead in the 40th minute through Jordan, who met a low free-kick from Dexter Thornhill, scooped his shot against the crossbar but the ball bounced over the line – the assistant referee confirmed the goal to the delight of the hosts.

And Robinson sealed the win, a minute from full-time, as he met a deep ball and lobbed the advancing goalie Wilfred Bailey, with a delightful right-footed chip.

TTEC needed a last-minute winner to get the better of Club Sando 2-1 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella. Jamal Ayres put TTEC in front after 31 minutes before veteran Dexter Franklyn tied the scores for Club Sando in the 76th, but Willan Garcia got the deciding goal in the dying seconds.

Besides Joe Public and TTEC, only 1976 FC Phoenix remains with a chance of claiming the title.

And Phoenix kept their slim hopes alive with a 5-0 demolition of Queen’s Park at Canaan, Bon Accord, as Lejandro Williams notched a hat-trick (19th, 45th and 80th), while Darren Mitchell (22nd) and Dominique Kerr (53rd) added one apiece. Defence Force moved up to fifth place on the standings by virtue of a come-from-behind 3-1 win over hosts WASA at St Joseph.

Mervyn Brooks broke the deadlock after three minutes but the visitors responded with strikes from Keseon Theodore (36th), Dwight Scott (54th) and Akil Pierre (73rd). Economy Strikers took the trip from Sangre Grande to the Youth Camp in Chaguaramas and trounced Carenage United 5-2. Former national Under-17 forward Carlon Hughes, a recent addition to the Economy squad, registered a treble (30th, 59th and 81st penalty), with one each from Kevin Jagdeosingh (12th) and a Lawrence Davis own goal (25th).

Tyrone Charles got both items for Carenage, in the 33rd and 37th minutes. Harlem Strikers’ tortuous season continued as they failed to show for their scheduled meeting against St Francois Nationals at the Dibe Recreation Ground, Long Circular, St James. A rescheduled Match Day 16 encounter will be staged tomorrow with St Francois squaring off against Economy Strikers from 3.30 pm at the Youth Camp.
