Tobago Football Association 2009 League champions, Stokely Vale made a positive start to their campaign in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation Promotional Play-off for qualification to the bmobile National Super League.
Stokely Vale started the game purposefully and aggressively and got two goals courtesy Keshon Joseph and Trevor James. Though they did not score any other goals, they were always in total control of the game and did not have too many anxious moments in defending their two goals.
The Plymouth boys will be back in action at their home ground on Sunday against Valencia United.
Competition was schedule to commence three weeks ago but because of a controversy with the Eastern Football Association qualifiers, the opening games in the tournament had to be postponed.
However, the Federation had given the Eastern Association two weeks to put their house in order or face disqualification.
They failed to adhere to the mandate and were subsequently disqualified from participating. There are now five teams in the tournament with the top two qualifying.
Stokely Vale who withdrew from the League in 2006 because of the financial burden of participating is now hoping to win the Play-off and return to the League where the competition is much stronger than in the Tobago League.
Since their return they have won the League, two out of three times.
