An Andre Phillip item in the 88th minute saw bmobile Joe Public record a last gasp 2-1 win over Club Sando to remain on top of the Blink/bmobile National Super League on Wednesday.
Joe Public, who were at home at the Marvin Lee Stadium in Macoya, were 1-0 up at half time, thanks to a goal from national midfielder Andre Toussaint.
Club Sando’s Trevon Mitchell levelled the score in the 70th minute. With the win, Joe Public remained three points clear, as Stokely Vale, their closest challengers were also 2-0 winners on the day.
Tyrone Manning scored in either half to give Stokely Vale victory over 1976 FC Phoenix at Plymouth. Manning, the club’s top goal scorer recorded his ninth for the season.
In the other match, West Side Super Starzs, recovered from an early goal to defeat Real Maracas 2-1.
Sherron Manswell opened for the St Joseph club in the seventh minute, before Tevon Eve levelled in the 33rd minute.
Christon Freitas won the match for West Side in the 54th minute. Meanwhile, a decision has been taken to relieve Defence Force of its committment for the season.
As a result, all nine clubs in which Defence Force were scheduled to face have been awarded victory by a 3-0 margin.
The club will, however, retain its place in the 2012 season. The Army drew six of their nine matches, won two, and lost only one. The team scored nine goals and conceded 10.
