SAN JUAN Jabloteh will be attempting to create history when the final phase of the annual Republic Bank National Youth League is played off at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar, Arima this coming Saturday.

Jabloteh have qualified for the semi-finals in all three age groups, and will be doing their utmost to win them all and thus give the club a shot at sweeping the finals, something that has never been accomplished in the tournament’s 20-year history.

When the quarter-finals were played on Saturday last, Jabloteh twice needed to win via penalty- spot shootout to advance to the final four.

In the Under-11 division, the Bourg Mulatresse-based club was held to a one-all draw by La Horquetta before winning the shootout 3-0.

Their semi-final opponents will be Cap-Off Youths, who won 2-0 over Marabella Family Crisis Centre; Omari Charles and Tyrek Harding got the goals for Cap- Off Youths.

Trendsetter Hawks will face Uprising Youths in the other semi-final; a double from Jaheem Marshall fired the Hawks to a 2-0 win over Malabar Young Stars, while Uprising won 4-3 on penalties following a goalless draw with Tobago’s 1976 Phoenix.

In the Under-13 division, Jabloteh disposed of Ralph’s Coaching School 3-0 with a double- strike from Tyrique Sutherland and another goal from Kaihim Thomas. On Saturday, they will face St Ann’s Rangers, who defeated Cap-Off Youths 2-0 with a double from Saleem Peters.

In the other semi-final, SKFY FA, who scored a 3-0 win over Adrenaline FA will meet Wez Pro; Wez Pro won a shootout 5-4 to eliminate St Clair Coaching School following a 1-1 draw.

In the Under-15 quarter-finals, Jabloteh once more proved superior from the penalty mark, edging Santa Cruz FA 3-2 in the shootout following a goalless draw. In the semis they will play Uprising Youths, who edged Crown Trace FC 1-0.

Cap-Off Youths were 3-1 winners over 1976 Phoenix, and they will meet WASA FC, who won by default over Trendsetter Hawks.

The semi-finals in all divisions will be played of in the morning, while the finals are scheduled to kick off at 12.30 pm.
