Nathaniel James scored his first beaver-trick of the Flow Youth Pro League 2017 season last Saturday to lead San Juan Jabloteh Under-13s to a 5-1 away win at Point Fortin Civic while putting his tally to an incredible 31 goals this term.
However it wasn’t James’ best scoring feat in a game this season, having scored a six goals in a 7-1 win over Central FC on May 28 and five against Morvant Caledonia United in a 12-0 win on April 23.
But James’ latest exploit made sure the Under-13 leaders Jabloteh (40 points), with their tenth straight win, remain ahead of Police FC, albeit only goal difference (+64/+42).
Police, ambitious of returning to the top of the standings, had slammed cellar-placed St. Ann’s Rangers 10-0 at the St. James Barracks outside field to keep on the heels of Jabloteh.
Nathaniel Carrim finished with a hat-trick for the little Blues while Jaheim Marshall, Tyreke Harding and Josiah Wilson each scored a double and Isaiah Thomas had one to his name.
On the opposite end of the country, leading scorer Nathaniel James, who also have three hat-tricks this season, was celebrating his 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st goals of the 2017 FYPL with strikes in the 15th, 17th, 31st and 57th minutes against Civic at Mahaica Oval.
Kyle Dwarika also got on the score sheet for Jabloteh before Kanye Francis netted a consolation item for Civic near the end.
W Connection, nine points behind in third, kept their chase on the leaders with a 6-1 win over Morvant Caledonia at San Juan North Secondary school ground with Molik Khan, Dereem Hamilton, Dantaye Gilbert, Jordel Francois, Chaz Forde and Jkwon Bailey all on the score sheet.
Connection also defeated Morvant Caledonia 4-1 and 5-1 in the Under-15 and Under-17 divisions for a clean sweep which included a hat-trick from in-form U17 attacker Jevaughn Humphrey.
Jabloteh, though, continues to also lead both U15 and U17 divisions although failing to register a perfect day at Mahaica Oval.
Tyrese Riley, for his first Jabloteh goal this season, levelled the visitors for a 1-1 finish in the U15 division after Ezekeil Kezar had put Civic in front in the second half.
But goals by Nickell Orr, Lukman Brooks and Kidane Lewis completed Jabloteh’s visit with victory in the U17s.
Elsewhere Defence Force and Central played to a 1-1 draw in the U15 division before the Couva Sharks ended the day with a 5-2 win over the Army in a bottom-of-the-table U17 clash.
Play in the U15s and U17s between North East Stars and Club Sando, and Police FC and St. Ann’s Rangers were postponed due to heavy afternoon rainfall at the D’Abadie Recreation Ground and St. James Barracks outside field.
FYPL action resumes on Sunday in north, central and south Trinidad.
