T&T youth player Jodel Brown scored twice at the death to earn San Juan Jabloteh Under-18s to a 3-2 win over Police FC on Sunday while completing a positive day of results for the hosts on match day five of the 2018 Flow Youth Pro League.
Kidane Lewis fired Jabloteh into a 17th minute lead at San Juan North Secondary School Ground, Bourg Mulatresse, San Juan.
However, Jabari Boyce drew Police level on the hour mark before team-mate Kai Phillip netted the go-ahead item 18 minutes later before Brown’s late heroics, first levelling the score in the 90th minute before completing his double with the winner in extra-time.
The win lifted the defending champions into the division’s lead with 10 points from four matches and four league games left this season while previous leaders Club Sando, slipped two spots and three points into third after a 2-0 loss against MIC-IT St. Ann’s Rangers, also with seven points.
Point Fortin Civic is now second with eight points after stunning visitors W Connection 1-0 at Mahaica Oval through a second-half Judah Garcia.
Jabloteh, champions in all divisions in the last three seasons, also maintained their place at the top of the Under-16 standings with an earlier 2-0 win over Police thanks to a quick-fire brace from Malachai Daniel (32nd & 35th) in the first half to move to 13 points.
Club Sando (11 points) and W Connection (ten points), however, maintained their close chase in the with wins over St Ann’s Rangers (3-1) and Pt Fortin Civic (2-0) respectively.
Jabloteh, pushing for another record-extending campaign after last year’s “triple-triple”, had earlier knocked Police (ten points) off the top of the Under-14 standings with a 3-0 win with Jaheim Faustin, Christian Jeremy and Israel Joseph on target.
The result allowed W Connection (13 points), 3-0 winners over Pt Fortin Civic, as well to take the lead by one point ahead of Jabloteh (12 points) and set up an interesting top-of-the-table clash on Sunday when the Savonetta Boys host Jabloteh at Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva
Morvant Caledonia United U14s, rebounded from a 2-0 loss against W Connection a week ago to trash Central FC 12-0 at St. George’s College Ground in Barataria for the biggest win in all divisions this season.
Neegus Jack helped himself to three goals in the 13th, 14th and 73rd minutes, while Ishmael Lewis ( 22nd and 74th) and Giovanni Warner (49th and 75th) notched a double each for Morvant Caledonia, while team-mates Josiah Wilson (25), Nathaniel John (26), Kyle Phillip (43), Ivan George (47) and Jason Seepersad (60) added a goal each.
