Ivan Dos Santos, for a second time in three outings, has scored the decisive item as his Central FC Under-17 outfit maintain an unbeaten run after three outings in the 2019 Youth Pro League—their latest a 1-0 win over Police FC on Sunday.
Dos Santos arrived off the bench a fortnight ago to rescue a point at the death against youth powerhouse San Juan Jabloteh which ended 1-1. His latest exploits was a 29th-minute strike that proved enough to eke full points against the young Blues at the Police Barracks outside field to join leaders W Connection, 2-0 winners over Terminix La Horquetta Rangers, on 7 points.
Police FC, Point Fortin Civic and Club Sando, in descending order on the U17 ladder, are a point behind after Sunday’s results.
Civic also lost, going down 3-1 against Club Sando. Sando rebounded from a shock loss against Police a week ago when a goal each from Thaj Neptune (30), Jaden Mc Kree (38) and Kern Cedeno (76) eased Angus Eve’s side past Civic at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. Jabari Francois handed Civic a consolation item in stoppage time.
Sando Under-13 outfit, coached by Wayne Caesar, kicked off the day with a 2-0 win over the Civic at the south venue to climb a spot into second, but the visitors from Point Fortin hit back with a 3-1 win over the hosts in the Under-15 division.
Civic continues to lead the U15 standings with maximum after three games but are level on 9 points with Rangers. The La Horquetta outfit celebrated a 3-1 win over hosts Connection at Gilbert Park after losing 4-0 in the U13 division.
Jabloteh are perfect at the top of the U13 standings after three matches with their latest result a 4-1 win over crosstown rivals Morvant Caledonia United at San Juan North Secondary.
Cameron Gulston (10 & 14) scored twice early on for Keith Jeffrey’s side before Jahmarley Caleb (31) and Thane Devenish (48), with his fourth goal of the campaign, added a goal each before Jadaiah King (56) struck a consolation item for Morvant Caledonia.
Jabloteh were however held goalless by Morvant Caledonia in the U15 and U17 divisions and are in much need of victories when they host Rangers next Sunday at the same San Juan North Secondary venue.
Central must next travel to Mahaica Oval against Civic while Connection will host Police. Sando will welcome North East Stars at Mannie Ramjohn Stadium and Defence Force are away to Morvant Caledonia.
