NATIONAL Primary Schools Football champions Bon Accord Government and rivals Whim Anglican will battle for the 2013 Godrick Alfred Primary Schools Knock Out Cup after both teams scoring commanding wins in their semifinals at the Shaw Park Recreational Grounds earlier yesterday.

 

Bon Accord whipped Signal Hill Government 7-1 while Whim dismissed Bethesda Government 9-1 as both teams will face each other in a rematch of last year’s finals where Bon Accord edge Whim 1-0 for the title. Playing in the first game Bon Accord showed their class from early in the game with superior skill and height and took the lead in the sixth minute when Nigel Burnett intercepted a goal kick out from Signal Hill defence and slotted in the ball past the diving keeper Renaldo Miller.

Signal Hill captain Darion Joefield was kept busy in defence but could not keep out the Bon Accord strikers. On the end Tyreek Bruce was up front for Signal Hill running down the right wing but his crosses were quickly cleared by Bon Accord defenders. Four minutes later Daniel Marcelle found the back of the net for the winners when he scored from a corner. Hamilton Bristol made it 3-0 when he was on mark from a cross from Burnett with Shaquille Carrington getting the team’s fourth scoring from from yet another cross much to the delight of the chanting and cheering Bon Accord supporters.

The first half ended 4-0. Kyle Jack continued the scoring in the second half as he dribbled past several defenders before scoring. Burnet got his double in the 53 minutes as he pounced on a rebound. Bristol and Hamilton mounted several of Bon Accord’s attacks along with Burnett who made his moves from the right flank.

Signal Hill managed to get on the score sheet when Jamal Samuel netted in the 49th minute.
