T&T Soca Warriors USA (TTSWUSA) is an organization set up to promote, highlight and showcase players from Trinidad and Tobago or whose parents are from T&T. The object is to play exhibition games against professional clubs with the intention that these clubs show interest in our players to eventually sign a contract.
The goal is to establish U-17, U-21, U-23 and senior teams both male and female across the USA and have one representative team from each level that will represent T&T Soca Warriors USA. The overall goal however is to provide and organize a player pool so that the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) could tap into as part of their recruiting efforts.
In other words T&T Soca Warriors USA would assist with identifying players who could become assets to the national teams of Trinidad and Tobago. T&T Soca Warriors USA began playing exhibition games in Florida in 2005. Recently TTSWUSA (March 18th 2006) they had a tie against a Jamaican representative team which ended in a 2-2 tie. In addition the TTSWUSA also tied with West Palm Beach Pumas of the PDL professional league. On Sunday March 26th the TTSWUSA is scheduled to play Charleston Battery of the U.S. A-League at 3 pm at the Blackbaud stadium in Charleston SC. Strikers Carron Williams and Teba McKnight are currently in training with the Charleston Battery team and will be hoping to get one over on their fellow countrymen. There will also be couple MLS teams there this weekend in a tournament and TTSWUSA will be hoping to be part.
Some of the players expected to be showcased are Jason Sealey a hard working midfielder, super fast striker Carron Williams (FIU), sweeper Sheldon Jardine (FIU), defender Nicholas Goddard, and goalkeeper Troy Marquis.
The TTSWUSA was founded in 2005 by former Caledonia AIA and St Augustine midfielder Roger "Lizo" Wilson and Jason Sealey.
Tobago born Wendell Moore, Tony Lambert and New York based Dennis Vernard are also part of the staff. Wilson, who is currently a coach at the Stone Mountain Youth Soccer Association in Georgia told the Soca Warriors Online that Earl Carter among other former T&T nationals is part of the set up as well.
