Defender Keyeno Thomas’ hamstring injury which forced him out of action for another two weeks was the only sour note in the Trinidad and Tobago camp as the members of the senior national football team arrived at the Jolly Beach Resort in Antigua for a five-day training camp around midday on Monday.

Coach Bertille St Clair was among the persons arriving at the posh resort which will also accommodate technical consultant Graham Taylor and assistant coach David Nakhid later in the week as the “Soca Warriors” make use of the Antigua Recreation Ground (ARG) for training after it was made available to them by the Antiguan Government and Football Association. This is all part of preparations for the February 9 World Cup qualifier against the United States at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.

Before that, T&T will play a few warm-up matches, two being against the Azerbaijan national team at the Hasely Crawford Stadium and Mannie Ramjohn Stadium on January 21 and 23 respectively. T&T will also face St Vincent and the Grenadines in the Digicel Caribbean Cup return leg on Sunday before returning home for preparations the following day.

Thomas had to leave the field after pulling his hamstring in the first half of Sunday’s 3-1 win over St Vincent and his place in the team was taken by defender Derek Phillips in the squad which included all the other players from Sunday’s game, for the training camp at the ARG.
