A host of former national footballers will be in action today (Thur) in the annual St Mary’s versus Belmont reunion match on St Mary’s grounds, Serpentine Road, from 4.30 pm.
T&T Pro League Chief Executive Officer, Dexter Skeene is expected to play a leading role for the Saints along with ex-nationals Ian Bain, Alvin Henderson, Jeffrey Lake and Ken Butcher.
Among the past T&T players in the Belmont line-up will be overlapping wing-back George Romano and forwards Marlon Morris, Ron La Forest and Wayne Lewis.
Also appearing for CIC will be Colin Skeene, Keston Nancoo, Charla Dore, Stephen Choy Yuwn, Grahame and Christian Rodriguez and Brian Ghent.
Included in the Belmont team are Winfield St Hill, Brian Sobers, Roger Simpson, Bertram Rooper, Clinton Corbin, Wayne Dial, Junior Garcia and Michael Harewood.
Former national captain David Nakhid (St Mary’s), Gregory Trujillo and Gordon Husbands (Belmont) will miss this year’s encounter.
Nakhid did not return home for the Carnival celebrations while Trujillo and Husbands are recuperating from major surgery.
