National midfielder Densill Theobald is eying his 100th appearance in international football for this country. The 29-year-old Caledonia AIA man got his 79th cap in Tuesday’s 2-0 victory over Barbados in Bridgetown.
He made his debut for T&T as a 20-year-old in a 0-0 draw with the “Bajans” in 2002 in St Kitts/Nevis during the Sugarbowl Festival.
“It’s a milestone I am definitely aiming to achieve. I’ve put in a lot of hours in training and on the field for the country and it doesn’t always go your way.
“Sometimes the coaches have different ideas and you as a player may see things differently but you have to respect the coach’s decision.
I would love to be playing every match but it’s not always going to turn out the way you want it to. “But at the same time, I am going to keep my fitness level up and improve my game so that I can reach the century mark,” said Theobald.
