National Under-17 and U-15 striker Nikita Gosine made it an astonishing 25 goals in her last two matches when he scored 11 times to lead Pleasantville Secondary to a 20-0 thrashing of Palo Seco Secondary in their latest Secondary Schools Football League Girls South Zone Championship Division match on Sunday.
Winners over Princes Town Secondary 28--0 on Thursday last with Gosine scoring 14 goals, the Pleasantville girls showed little mercy on host Palo Seco with the other Gosine sister, Natalia adding a hat trick while Taye-Ann Wylie scored twice, and the quartet of Joe-nelle Jones, Amanda Nanan, Zahara Mitchell, and Giovanna Sherwood one each.
St Joseph Convent of San Fernando also enjoyed a relatively fun day as they ran out 7-0 winners over Princes Town West Secondary led by a five-goal burst from Alexis-Raye Lalchan and one each from Amara Bhagan, and Tishan Siu.
Over in the Tobago Zone, National SSFL Girls League champions Scarborough Secondary powered by reigning “Most Valuable Player’ J’Eleisha Alexander’s six goals clobbered Pentecostal Light & Life 10-0 at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex Ground.
Alexander’s fellow national teammate Talia Martin helped herself to a hat trick in the win for Scarborough with Kieneal Dillon, the other scorer.
And in the other match on the sister-isle Roxborough Secondary defeated Speyside Secondary 5-1 with Shernaiah Alfred scoring three goals, and Lory Clarke a double, while J’nya Gray got the lone reply for the losers.
In the Central Zone, Miracle Ministries continued their impressive start by blasting Chaguanas North Secondary 9-0 with Amiya Cumberbatch netting a treble.
The duo of Aaqila Virgil, and Sydney Gordon banged in two goals each for Miracle Ministries with Kimberlyn Rampersad, and Gabriella Lezama adding solitary items against the hapless Chaguanas South line-up, which was playing their first match of the season after defaulting their previous encounters.
Elsewhere in Central, Holy Faith Convent (Couva) got two goals from Zaria Cassia, and further strikes from Mercedeze Harewood, and Dana Pacheco in a 4-0 beating of Carapichaima East Secondary, while Chaguanas West Secondary got a lone item from Xandreah Ramsingh to edge Carapichaima West Secondary 1-0.
Orielle Martin was unstoppable as she netted a beaver trick to lead Bishop’s Anstey East past Barataria South Secondary 4-1 while San Juan North won by a similar margin against El Dorado East Secondary via items from Kalesia Balcon, Myeisha Cox, Taya Williams, and Afiya Jacob, and in the other clash, Five River Secondary thumped St Augustine Secondary 6-0.
In the North Zone, St Joseph Convent (PoS) got a goal each from Kaitlyn Darwent, Scarlett Cole, and Mikaela Yearwood in a 3-0 win over rivals Bishop’s Anstey (PoS); Holy Name Convent (PoS) had Calypso Ayoung (penalty), Chaya Vincent, Ava Nicholas, and Isabella Ramdeen in a 4-1 defeat of Malick Secondary who got its consolation strike from Hakeemar Goodridge, and Diego Martin Central Secondary won by default from Tranquillity Secondary.
