This is the third year running for BG Trinidad and Tobago (BGTT) as title sponsor of the Girls Intercol Tournament which is set to begin today.
BGTT is also the sponsor of Secondary Schools Football League and the Big 5 Championships of the North, East, South, Central and Tobago Zones.
Thanks to BGTT’s seven years of sponsorship, the Big 5 is now the premier championship event for youth football in Trinidad and Tobago and the Girls Intercol is poised to draw as much attention this year as the forerunner to next year’s Girls Under-20 World Cup.
One of the key focus areas for social investment by BG Trinidad and Tobago is in youth development through sport.
“We believe that involvement in competitive sport at the levels we sponsor will help to keep our youth engaged in productive activities and away from the negative influences that are so prevalent in our society today”, according to Wendell Constantine, Communications and Brand Manager at BGTT.
The Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) adopts a practical approach to teaching young people core values through sport that will lead to success in today’s world. These values include teamwork, self-discipline, fair play, respect for authority and true sportsmanship.
Over the years, BGTT has consistently shown interest in the development of youth, especially through sporting activities such as football and cricket.
