Former champions, St Augustine missed out on a chance to join San Juan North in second spot on the East Zone BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League table after it was held to a 1-1 draw by hosts Trinity East in a re-scheduled first round match yesterday.

The Green Machine as St Augustine started brightly and went ahead midway through the first-half thanks to Triston Hodge, however, Trinity East which was beaten by St Augustine, 4-1 on October 6, drew level via striker Jameel Sempel.

Any chance of St Augustine conjuring up a winner was then dented when midfielder Nicholas Marcano who netted in Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of El Dorado West was red-carded.

Tomorrow, the top four will face off as Arima North entertains San Juan North at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar while St Augustine is at home to El Dorado East.
