South Zone leaders Naparima College will be looking to stretch their three-point lead at the top of the standings when they tackle third-placed Princes Town Senior Comprehensive in the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella today.

"Naps" will be hoping to get past the 2002 league champions without too much trouble in this encounter, but Princes Town are aware that if they steal the win, they will shoot to within a point of the leaders, and remain firmly in contention for South Zone honours.

Simultaneously at Mayaro, St Benedicts will be aiming for a similar result when they play away to second-placed Mayaro Composite. A win would place them back into the top three, as they are just one point behind Mayaro, and fourth behind Princes Town, although both teams have 15 points.

Moruga Composite (fifth) and Vessigny (sixth), both on 10 points, meet at the Mahaica Oval in Point Fortin as Vessigny try to avenge their 1-0 loss to their opponents in the first round. And after their narrow 1-0 victory when they hosted Fyzabad Composite, Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive are seeking another, this time at Fyzabad, to move up from the bottom of the standings, as the threat of relegation looms closer.

In the East Zone, Hillview will attempt to draw within one point of leaders St Augustine Senior Secondary when the teams square off at the Marvin Lee Stadium, while Arima Senior Comprehensive have an easier assignment at home to Barataria Senior Secondary.

El Dorado Senior and St George's College tussle for a place in the top four at El Dorado, while slumping San Juan Senior Comprehensive will try to rebound from back-to-back defeats against Hillview and "El Do" when they host Valencia.

In the North, at St Mary's ground on Serpentine Road, Malick Senior Comprehensive are promised a testing encounter when they face home team CIC, while Fatima look to overturn a 2-0 defeat at home against Queen's Royal College when they travel to QRC ground to play the struggling home team.

Leaders Mucurapo Senior Comprehensive will be looking for a more comfortable margin of victory against Morvant/Laventille this time around when they meet at Fatima ground, as it took a last minute goal to get them past the Morvant team 3-2 in the first round.

St Anthony's College will also face Tranquillity College at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, but they may find the match-up a bit tougher than in the first round when they trounced the North Zone minnows 6-0. "Tranquil" are on a high, having beaten Malick Secondary Comprehensive 2-0 on Saturday at the same venue.

Also on today is the rescheduled Central Zone match between leaders Presentation College Chaguanas and Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

All SSFL matches begin at 3.45 pm.
