VALTON BRATHWAITE scored a goal in each half in helping Scarborough Secondary to a 3-1 triumph over host team Signal Hill Senior Comprehensive yesterday.
With the win, Scarborough moved to a maximum total of 12 points — five mopre than champion side Signal Hill — in the Tobago Zone of the British Gas Secondary Schools Football League.

Brathwaite silenced the Signal Hill home crowd when he opened the scoring in the fifth minute. But the goal seemed to awaken Signal Hill, who sprang to life and went in search of an equaliser.

After coming close on a few occasions, Esron Solomon-Hinds brought Signal Hill level in the 39th minute to send the teams into the interval with a goal apiece.

Within a minute of the restart, Brathwaite restored his team the lead with his fourth goal of the series.

Kadeem Phillips increased Scarborough’s lead to 3-1 in the 57th minute with his fourth goal of the season, putting victory beyond Signal Hill’s reach.

Roxborough Composite, playing at home, got a last-minute goal from Grevon Crooks to take full points with a 2-1 win over Bishop’s.

Chevon Alleyne had given Bishop’s a 19th minute lead while Crooks tied the score in the 23rd minute, before his last-minute strike.
