St Augustine Secondary cashed in on their good recent form when they won the Boys Coca-Cola InterCol East Zone Final 2-0 against a plucky Five Rivers Secondary outfit yesterday at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Malabar.
Jalene Sobers netted a hat-trick to lead her team to the title and bring some pride to the school since their male counterparts Trinity College East were demoted to the Championship Division next year.
Carereen Prentice opened the scoring for Bishop’s in the fourth minute, then Sobers doubled the lead seven minutes later. Tyanna Williams made it 3-0 halfway through the first half, while Sobers scored her second in first half stoppage time.
Toco finally got on the scoresheet in the 47th through Tanika Dann’s effort, but it was only a consolation as Sobers completed her treble seconds before the end.
