Adisa Connel notched two second-half goals for Naparima as they registered the biggest margin of victory so far in this years British Gas Secondary Schools Football League with an 8-1 drubbing of their South Zone opponents Mayaro at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, yesterday.
Kern Robinson opened the scoring for Naps in the 30th minute. Andrew Bailey then doubled the defending South Zone champions lead two minutes later.
In the second-half, goals from Deverne Wallace (60th), Kezi Lara (70th), Connel (73rd) and Kern Peters saw Naps holding a 6-0 advantage.
Carlton Roberts made no mistake from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to grab a consolation goal for Mayaro, before Connel (84th) and his captain Dezi Lara (88th) rounded off the scoring for Naparima.
At the Mahaica Oval, Vessigny pulled off a shocking result against Princes Town, coming away from their encounter 1-0 winners on a 55th minute strike from Tsion Thomas, while St Benedicts were held 1-1 by Fyzabad in Fyzabad.
Andy Alves bagged his second goal for the season from the penalty spot, giving Fyzabad the lead in the 30th minute. Akiel Belfon, who scored twice for St Benedicts in their 3-3 draw with Naps on Friday, got the equaliser just five minutes later.
