The top four teams in the Premier League all have 12 points. However, Trincity and Malick have played a match more.

On Saturday, Malick got a flying start against UWI at St George's College ground, Barataria. UWI goalie Kadidra De Freitas brought off a series of impressive blocks in the opening seconds, before Patrice Superville ended the fifth of a series of rebounds by banging the ball high into the net.

UWI were under pressure for much of the match, but put up a lot of fight, especially through their stocky centre defender.

However, UWI will improve significantly simply by learning the basics, since none of their back four, and also the goalkeeper, are even able to punt the ball out of their penalty area.

They are therefore always defending.

The University girls did show some fight, though, and held out until Malick playmaker Kiva Gresham added a second first half goal, when stroking a low shot past keeper De Freitas from close-up.

UWI went in trailing by just two goals, but broke down in the second half when both Superville and Gresham completed hat-tricks. Shadeeka Mendez also got her name on the scoresheet for Malick.
