Real Dimension hold a slender goal-average advantage over Trincity Nationals at the top of the Trinidad and Tobago Women's League Football (WoLF) Premier Division, after the top two teams played out a 2-2 draw on Saturday at Eddie Hart Ground, Tacarigua.
Both teams now have 13 points, along with third-placed Tobago Women's Football team, who won by default over bottom team University of the West Indies.
Despite wet conditions, Saturday's top-of- the-table clash began with good intensity and pace. Former Malick standout Alania Burgin got Real Dimension off to a flying start in the eighth minute when applying a one-touch finish to a corner kick.
But home team Trincity Nationals are much tougher this season than in the past and were level at 1-1 in the 28th, Shanelle Warrick picking up a loose ball atop the penalty area and rifling a shot inside the upper corner of the far post.
The teams battled for supremacy until Real Dimension went ahead at 2-1 through Burgin, who chipped the keeper with a free-kick from 25 metres out, after midfielder Janine Francois was initially fouled. However, Trincity levelled again at 2-2, this time through Jonelle Warrick.
