Janelle Jack netted a double for Arima Giants in a thrilling 5-1 win over Tunapuna Titans in the Lucky Bakery Eastern Football Association (EFA) National Women’s League on Friday.

The encounter took place at the Barataria Oval in Barataria. After Jack opened the scoring in the 10th minute, Ashley Mark followed up with an effort to put the team up 2-0 by halftime.

Laverne George then responded for the Titans just after the second half started, but her effort was quickly cancelled out by Jack, who netted her second just minutes later in the 53rd.

Joeleen Smith and Asha Charles then finalised the thumping with goals in the 55th and 78th minutes. Then on Saturday, in the opening match at the same venue, Real Dimention was a narrow 1-0 victor over Defence Force from a goal scored by Natasha St. Louis, a minute before halftime.

In the second fixture, the national Under-17 team recorded a comfortable 2-0 win over North Coast United with second half goals from Zoey Swift and Shanisa Camejo. Round two of matches will take place on Friday and Saturday.
