FEDERAL NORTHSIDE and Goodwood United had to rely on penalties to advance to the quarter-finals of this year’s First Division knockout series in the Tobago Football Association.
In the opening game at Goodwood on Thursday, Northside and Mason Hall PYC played to a 0-0 draw before Northside won 4-1 on penalties.
And in the later game, after paying to another 0-0 draw, Goodwood prevailed over NLCB Mt Grace United 5-3 on penalties.
But at Canaan, an own-goal decided the match between winners Hope Village Milan and Carnbee/Mt Pleasant.
The Hope Village men won the game 4-3 on goals by Marcano Collette who scored a double, Kareeme Tobias and the own goal. Nave Roach scored twice and Delroy Fraser the other for the combined team.
Black Rock dumped Moriah Youths 3-0 in the other match at Canaan on Thursday, with Trevor Alleyne, Adrian Morris and Curon Hackett doing the scoring.
In the next round on Tuesday, Federal Northside will meet Hills United; Signal Hill United take on Goodwood United and Black Rock play HV Milan.
