Michael John scored a hat-trick, while Nathan Roach and kevin Daniel got one goal a piece, when Carnbee/Mt Pleasant SC opened its account of the Tobago Football Association (TFA) First Division, with a 5-0 whipping of Goodwood Utd, in Mt Pleasant, on Thursday.
The one-sided affair saw Mt Pleasant climb to fourth spot, just behind Golden Lane FC, which also played one match thus far. Golden Lane recorded the highest margin of victory in each of the three divisions since the league began, with a 10-0 win over Mason Hall.
The two teams which sit above Golden Lane and Carnbee Mt Pleasant, are Charlieville Unifiers and Earlbrokes, which have played two matches, recording a win and a draw each. Earlbrokes, following its opening round draw, edged Buccoo Ball Park 1-0, on Thursday, while Charlieville Unifiers Mason Hall its second defeat, 4-2.
Action will continue in the Premier Division and Championship Division today and tomorrow. Tomorrow's feature match will see defending champion Bethel United and 1976 FC Phoenix, both clubs of which are represented in the National Super League, seeking their first win of the season. The two teams will clash at Canaan/Bon Accord, from 6.15 pm.
