A brace from Kelvon Charles in the 7th and 39th minutes ensured Black Rock advanced in the Tobago Football Association’s (TFA) FA Cup Tournament with a 3-0 victory over Hills United on Sunday at the Mt Pleasant Recreation Ground.

After Charles’ double strike, team mate Ronaldo Acosta added a third in the 76th minute to kill all chances their opponents may have of coming back into the match. The Black Rock men joined seasoned campaigners Stokely Vale, who progressed by thrashing Moriah Youth 4-0 at the Signal Hill Recreation Ground at the weekend. The win came from a double strike by the prolific Lashawn Roberts.

Roberts may now be in contention for the ‘Golden Boots’ award at the end of the season as his two goals was followed by another single strike that led his team to a 1-0 triumph over FA Cup champions Signal Hill in a Premier Division encounter recently.

On Sunday however Onasi Forde opened the scoring for Stokely Vale in the 25th minute before the Roberts show in the 34th and 52nd minutes. Devon Leacock rounded off the scoring with a 57th item that sent a strong warning to their counterparts in the tournament.

Also advancing in the FA Cup at the weekend were Carnbee Mt Pleasant which fired three unanswered goals past Goodwood FC to prevail 3-0: Mt Grace got a single goal from Devon Edwards to pip Earlbrokes 1-0 at Mt Pleasant on Sunday: and Calder Hall hammered Mason Hall 4-0 at Signal Hill ground, courtesy two goals from Akelion Murphy.

Meanwhile in TFA Premier Division League action Stokely Vale edged Moriah 1-0: Gold City shut out Roxborough 2-0 and Leeds United shared the points with Georgia FC following a 1-1 draw at Mt Pleasant.
