Kalid Kent got the lone goal as First Division leader in the Tobago Football Association booked a spot in the FA Trophy quarterfinal round with a 1-0 win over Premier Division side Georgia.
This was in the first match of a double-header at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, on Monday to set up a quarterfinal encounter with Stokely Vale, another Premier Division club on Friday.
Stokely Vale edged Signal Hill United 2-1 in the other match at Bacolet with items from Curtis Job and Akeilon Murphy.
On Tuesday, Sidey’s FC and Charlotteville Unifiers both won comfortably to complete the last-eight line-up.
Sidey’s trounced Roxborough Lakers 3-0 led by a double from Pavel Warrick at Goodwood Recreation Ground, while Garth Woodley also netted twice for Unifiers in its 3-1 beating of Federal Northside in the second match at Goodwood.
Today, FA holder St Clair Coaching School will be first into quarterfinal action when it faces Calder Hall from 5pm at Bacolet and two hours later, 1976 FC Phoenix faces Sidey’s.
Tomorrow, Bethel United plays Unifiers and Youth Stars tangle with Stokely Vale for places in Saturday’s semifinal at the same venue.
The semifinal winners will clash in the final at Bacolet on a date to be determined for the $20,000 top prize. Second gets $10,000 and third, $7,000.
