The Fédération Internationale de Football Association, (FIFA), has sent an inspection team to Trinidad and Tobago to assess this country’s level of preparedness to host the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup Trinidad and Tobago 2010.

FIFA delegates Oliver Vogt (competitions) and Sonia Denoncourt (senior manager refereeing) arrived last night and will be here until Thursday.

This is the second inspection that FIFA will be conducting in Trinidad and Tobago since this country secured the rights to host the World Cup last year.

During February’s inspection, FIFA officials visited several stadia, training pitches and hotels. However, during this inspection, FIFA officials will examine 12 potential training pitches to be used during the World Cup scheduled to take place from September 5 - 25, 2010.

FIFA vice-president and special advisor to the TTFF Jack Warner says the TTFF are well prepared for this second visit by his FIFA counterparts.

Warner, who is currently attending the U-17 men’s World Cup in Nigeria, will not be in Trinidad for the inspection but he is confident that FIFA will once again be pleased with the progress so far.

’This is the second inspection this island will be subjected to. Back in February FIFA stated that we were at a good starting point. Since that visit, we have strengthened the institutional capacity of the LOC. I am confident that FIFA will be just as pleased at the end of their second visit.’
