Due to the unavailability of seating on a single flight for the entire U-17 women’s football squad, the team will leave for its three-match tour of South Korea, in two parts, with the first group departing tomorrow and the other on Wednesday.

The T&T Football Federation (TTFF) is yet to release the final team which will be traveling, though it has been confirmed that it will be without a few players including Chante Helwig-Correia, Annette Mims and Jessica De Leon who are all unavailable for the tour due to school commitments.

The tour is being used as preparation for the 2010 Fifa U-17 Women’s World Cup which is being hosted by T&T from September 5-25. While in South Korea, T&T will be based at the Paju National Football Centre, and will face the South Koreans, who have already qualified for the World Cup, on April 5, 7 and 10.

The Norwegian said he is satisfied with where his team is at the moment and hopes they progress from the recently concluded Four Nation Tournament. “We saw very good development from the Four Nation Tournament... but it is important to confirm that we can compete at this level,” said Pellerud.

He added the tour will be a very important one for his team, as Korea’s style of play is different from that of Concacaf teams which they have been previously challenging and the experience will be crucial ahead of the World Cup.
