Kyle Walters scored the lone goal as lowly Marabella Family CC stunned Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League leader Siparia Spurs 1–0 on Sunday.
Despite the loss, Spurs stayed top of the 11-team table with 40 points from 16 matches. However, its once six point lead has been cut to three points after OJ Soldado’s All Stars (37 points) whipped Penal Rock Road (35 points) in a clash of second and third placed clubs.
For All Stars, Kendell Davis got two goals while Linsee Sherwood and Andre Alexis added one each to cancel out Amin Julien’s consolation strike for Penal Rock Road.
Fourth placed, La Brea All Stars edged Uprising Youths 2–1 to stay in contention with 34 points while Diamond United crushed Giants 12–2 in another match.
The winner of the Super League will collect $20,000 while second gets $10,000 and third, $8,000.
In the Roy Jagroopsingh Second Division, T&TEC inched closer to the title with a 2–0 shut out of Big Dreams United for 30 points from 11 matches, ten clear of Brick Field Falcons with four matches left to play.
