NATHAN LEWIS netted a hat-trick as FC Maloney staged a fantastic second-half comeback to demolish FC Santa Rosa 5-1 on Sunday at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Tunapuna.
With the result, Maloney claimed the 2011-2012 Eastern Football Association (EFA) Emerald Apartments and Plaza Cup, as well as a $4,500 jackpot and 23 gold medals. Santa Rosa went into the half-time interval with a 1-0 lead courtesy a strike from Jovan Rochford after 19 minutes.
But Maloney responded with a second-half goal spree, as Keron Clarke equalised in the 49th. Lewis got his name on the scoresheet in the 59th and 72nd before Owen Thompson netted Maloney’s fourth in the 80th.
And Lewis completed his treble in the 90th, to spark off wild celebrations by the Maloney fans.
