Enterprise Youths FC was named the winner of the Central Football Association (CFA) Premier League following the decision of an protest ruled in favour of the club against Leeds FC, in a verdict handed by the CFA’s disciplinary committee.

The decision effectively handed Enterprise both the league title and a spot in the Champions of Champions competition, a qualifier for the National Super League.

The ruling noted that irregularities and inconsistencies in the signature, identification card number and date of birth on registration form of the player in question were grounds of the protest from Enterprise Youths FC against Leeds United.

The CFA ruling stated, “The signature of Sherman Phillips as shown on the CFA Player Registration is not consistent to the signature of Sherman Phillips on other signed documents and as such is deemed false.”

The ruling distributed by CFA general secretary Stephen Bartholomew, however, acknowledged that the erroneous information in the player’s date of birth and identification card number as conveyed on the registration form is deemed as a genuine human transcript error and can be understood.

With the ruling, Leeds reserves the right to appeal the decision in accordance with the constitution of the CFA, the T&T Football Federation and FIFA statutes.
