Milton Wilson netted the first hat-trick of the new Central Football Association Premier Division to inspire Edinburgh 500 FC to a commanding 5-0 blowout of Enterprise Youths at African Recreation Ground on Saturday.
Wilson found the target in the 27th and 31st minutes after Christopher Eneau opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute.
Eneau added a second to his personal tally in the 42nd minute for a 4-0 lead at the half, while Wilson completed his treble eight minutes after the resumption.
The only other team to take all points from its opening encounter was Cunupia FC which got a double from Dillon Walker in the 36th and 52nd minutes to blank Perseverance United FC, 2-0 at New Settlement Ground.
In the two other matches, Xtrafoods Chaguanas FC and newcomers Enterprise Life Sport FC battled to a 2-2 draw in the second match at New Settlement Ground while former champions Harlem Strikers and Arawak Combined FC also battled to a 2-2 deadlock at Frederick Settlement Recreation Ground. Leeds FC, the ninth team in the league this season was on a bye.
Noticeably absent from this year competition are Caroni Tabaquite FC, Cap Off Youths FC, Eagles United, Perseverance Ball Runners and Las Lomas United who are now playing in the National Super League.
