After a ruling by the Central Football Association (CFA) Appeals Committee against Strugglers, the CFA club will now be heading to arbitration.

The club is contending that two protests put forward against league champions Leeds United and Predators FC, were not dealt with properly, which eventually cost them the league title.

As a result the club filed a court order to stop the T&T Football Federation Champion of Champions (CoC) competition, in which Leeds was to represent Central.

A source close to Strugglers said the court case which was set for the San Fernando High Court before Madame Justice Judith Jones, was withdrawn yesterday morning by strugglers.

The individual said from all indications, Central will not be represented at the T&TFF Champion of Champions tournament, which kicks off on January 30.

During the season, Predators FC and Leeds were awarded full points from matches against Strugglers which was penalised for using a player who was not properly registered.

According to CFA chairman Brian Layne, the player was never officially given transfer clearance by the T&T Pro League from one of its professional clubs and was therefore not cleared to play for Strugglers.

Meanwhile T&TFF secretary of the Competitions and Tournament Committee, Neville Ferguson said the parties have until January 30 to settle the matter.

He said failure to do such will see the tournament being played without a representative from Central.
