Harlem Strikers and KC Perseverance will meet in the Central Football Association Ramsingh’s Sports World-sponsored FA Trophy competition.
This after both clubs won their respective semifinal matches at Woodford Lodge Ground, Caroni on Sunday. In the opener, Strikers got a 74th minute winner from Ronel Lynch in its 2–1 triumph over last year’s beaten FA finalist and current Premier Division leader, Caroni Samba.
Former Guyanese international, Carey Harris had given Strikers a 36th minute lead which but former national youth team player Teba Mc Knight drew Caroni level in the 59th minute before Lynch struck the winner.
Anthony Parris (40th) and Ariko Agard (79th) scored on either side of the half for KC Perseverance in its 2–0 shut-out of Edinburgh 500.
In the quarterfinal round, Caroni Samba whipped Perseverance Ball Runners 4–2 and Strikers banked Couva Sports 2–0 on Thursday at Woodford Lodge while Edinburgh 500 overwhelmed Cap Off Youths 3–1 and KC Perseverance United edged Leeds FC 2–1 on Friday.
The winner of the FA final will get a first prize of $5,000, while second and third will get $2,000 and $1,000, respectively. The top three clubs will also qualify for the T&T Football Federation FA Trophy competition.
