Marlon Lewis scored a pair of goals as Siparia Spurs whipped Giants 3-1 to join Executive Cup winner OJ Soldado All Stars at the top of the Southern Football Association Petrotrin Super League table.

Len Mejias added the other for Spurs while Jamal Faustin netted for Giants in Saturday’s encounter.

With the win, Spurs improved to 31 points from 12 matches, the same as OJ Soldado which has played a match more.

It was also the second win from as many matches for Spurs, after it edged past Petrotrin Palo Seco Sc 2-1. Mejias and Kevon Bascombe were on target for Spurs while Petrotrin’s got its reply from Darren Alexis.

OJ Soldado, meanwhile had a comfortable 4-0 triumph over Marabella Family Circle with a goal each from Shurland Griffith, Dexter Alleyne, Edisson Smart and Andre Alexis.

There were also victories for third and fourth placed clubs, Penal Rock Road and La Brea All Stars PYC over Uprising Youths, 3-2 and PAL United, 2-1 respectively.

In the Roy Jagroopsingh Second Division, Executive Cup third placed finisher, T&TEC crushed Brick Field Falcons 7-1 led by a hat-trick from Dwight Charles.

T&TEC now has 18 points from seven matches, four more than Falcons while Big Dreams stay third, a further point behind after a 2-1 victory over Ace Foundation. (NS)
