Saturday night the Milligan College men's soccer team fought a hard battle against the Bryan College Lions that ended in a 3-3 tie. This brings Milligan's AAC record to 4-1-1.
The Lions fought back, however, and the score reached 1-2 by halftime. Junior Philip Wilson (Middlesborough, England) scored unassisted in the 63rd minute, followed five minutes later by a goal from senior Rasmus Willhemsson (Ytterby, Sweden) .
The Lions answered late in the second half, sending the game into overtime with no change in score.
Both teams' offenses were aggressive, and senior Bryan Newbold (Sylva, N.C.) recorded seven saves on the night. The Lions received four yellow cards, and Milligan received one.
“We played fairly well,” said Head Coach Adam Laney . “We were very disciplined defensively, and we kept to our defensive strategy.”
