A native of Trinidad will play soccer this fall at the University of Pikeville.
Atiba Baptiste, who has played for the 21-and-under national team for his native Trinidad and Tobago, will continue his education while playing on the men's soccer team at UPike.
Baptiste lives in Brooklyn where he has played for three seasons for the Brooklyn Italians. He helped the Brooklyn Patriots win the New York State Cup and has competed in the Dallas Cup, considered the most prestigious club event in the country.
“Signing Atiba is great step forward for our program,” said Pikeville Coach Kevin Reigle. “I am very excited to bring in a player from New York, where I had coached for two seasons. Atiba will give us a great attacking presence and will give us the ability to hold the ball.”
