RANGERS have conceded just one goal since Greek powerhouse Sotirios Kyrgiakos replaced Jean-Alain Boumsong in the back line and central defensive partner Marvin Andrews reckons the Light Blues have landed a real gem.

Alex McLeish's men have hit the back of the net 15 times during Kyrgiakos' four matches for the club - Jason Scotland's strike for Dundee Utd in the 7-1 thrashing at Hampden was the only blip - and Big Marv knows Gers are in good shape for CIS and SPL glory this season.

The giant Trinidadian, who received his only booking of the season at Parkhead last weekend, told rangers.co.uk: "I am really enjoying my partnership with Soto. There is no problem with the language barrier and he has fitted in well since joining.

"I think we have a good understanding on the pitch and there are no problems at all.

"He is a similar type of player to Jean-Alain Boumsong but I think Soto is more aggressive. He likes to put in a challenge."

Kilmarnock provide the opposition at Ibrox tomorrow afternoon and a Rangers victory would open up a significant six-point gap on Celtic, who have a game in hand at Inverness.

Andrews, a scorer in last October's 2-0 win over Jim Jefferies' side, knows the Light Blues must build on Sunday's Old Firm triumph.

He continued: "Training has been good this week after the Celtic win and we are all looking forward to playing Kilmarnock now.

"But we have to do a professional job and make sure we get the points.

"We have to continue to work hard because nothing has been decided. We still have to earn the right to win the SPL title.

"Now we are top of the league every team will want to knock us off and spoil the party so every game will be difficult.

"When I was at Livingston I always wanted to so my best against Rangers and Celtic so I know the Kilmarnock players will want to do the same tomorrow.

"But we have to keep going and get the job done."

"This will be another hard match for us as Kilmarnock will want to do something at Ibrox but we must stay strong and get the win."

"The SPL is very close this year. I can't predict the future but we are at the top of the league and we all want to stay there."

"It would be a big psychological advantage to move six points clear in the table. We have the desire to win the SPL but we can't look too far ahead."
