Manager Barry Fry has confirmed that midfielder Andre Boucaud will start the next two games for Peterborough United in the absence of captain Curtis Woodhouse and the Posh boss is confident the youngster will shine.

Posh entertain Barnsley at London Road on Saturday (3pm) and Boucaud will be the only change to the side that beat Chesterfield 3-1 at Saltergate last weekend. Fry believes the Trinidad and Tobago international will give his team a more creative edge.

'Andre is the most skilful player at the football club and deserves his chance. He has been waiting in the wings and now has his opportunity and I am confident he will shine. If he plays two-touch football then he can go on to the highest level, he just sometimes overdoes things and gets frustrated, but everyone knows that on his day he can be a very influential player for us.

'With Curtis suspended, Andre will start the next two games whether he is the best or worst player on the pitch on Saturday. He will be the only change to the side which beat Chesterfield unless Andy Legg fails to overcome a back problem that forced him off at the interval last week,' Fry said.

Legg is set to make his 700th career appearance on Saturday and Fry has paid tribute to the Welshman for his excellent attitude to the game ahead of the meeting with Barnsley. Legg didn't start playing professional football until he was 22-years old and 16 years later, he is still going on strong.

'It truly is a remarkable record and he is a credit to the game because of the way he looks after himself and retains the enthusiasm of an 18-year-old.

One thing is for certain, he will add a lot more appearances to this impressive record because he is still an outstanding asset to any club and I know other clubs agree with my opinion. I hope his 700th game is a winning one,' Fry said.

Winger Adam Newton will be named amongst the substitutes if he recovers from a ankle injury, but Sagi Burton and Calum Willock are definitely ruled out with calf strains. Shane Huke is expected to be a substitute for the first time in the senior side while Irishman Peter Kennedy is out with a gashed knee.

Posh: Tyler, Arber, Rea, St. Ledger, Ireland, Farrell, Legg, Boucaud, Thomson, Logan, Purser, Clarke, McShane, Huke, Deen, Newton, Plummer, Day.
