Superstar Rangers’ head Coach Anthony Streete has one thing to smile about as his national midfielder Kerwyn ‘Hardest’ Jemmott returned to the training pitch on Thursday.
Streete has endured a rough time with the St. Anns based unit over the last month as Rangers has dropped down to 8th on the Pro League standings.
Streete was happy to welcome back his marquee player back to the training pitch.
Jemmott has been away from sessions for the last four weeks since suffering a dislocated left shoulder and stretched ligaments in his team’s 1-0 loss to San Juan Jabloteh in Round Two of the TT Pro League, which was his second major injury of the season.
He had also missed the end of Round One due to a hamstring injury suffered against the 2007 Pro Bowl champions W Connection in the final of the competition.
Speaking with ‘ttproleague.com’ Streete said that Jemmott realizes how much he is needed at present.
“He(Jemmott) is training with a strap and that’s shows how anxious he is to be back. He knows that we are suffering at the moment and how much the rest of the team needs him right now.”
Streete also added, “I personally am happy that he is back. I also know that with Jemmott back in our squad we can give a much better showing in our upcoming matches.”
Rangers recently enjoyed a 4-0 victory over ninth placed Police FC last Tuesday at the Marvin Lee Stadium in their Round Three Match Day One fixture.
All Pro League clubs are currently enjoying a week and a half break as their next scheduled match would take place on August 25.
Coach Anthony Streete concluded by adding that Rangers intends to put in all that they can during the break.
