Kwesi Allen of St Anthony’s College was voted Under-17 and Most Valuable Player of the Republic Bank Limited (RBL) Right Start Cup Youth Football Tournament at the prize-giving ceremony which took place on Saturday at the RBL Conference Suite, Park Street.

Norris Ferguson, manager of the national Under-23 team, in his feature address, offered a strong message to the youth athletes: “The less you associate with certain people, the more your life will improve. An important attribute in successful people is their impatience with negative thinking.

Friends who do not want you to climb, will help you crawl.” At the finals which took place at Casual’s Corner, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, 40 teams which qualified were in action in a full day of matches.

All winners would have qualified for the Republic Cup Shield and all finalists were awarded with a $50 RightStart savings account.
