Marlon Warner retained the individual scoring title in the National Super Football League when he scored 10 goals on Friday on the WASA ground in St Joseph.
Needing four goals to overhaul the total of Jamaican Roen Nelson, who finished with 29, Warner set a record for netting the most goals in a match, although his team, L-Sporto Crab Connection, went under 13-15 to WASA Clean and White in the unusual high-scoring affair.
The prolific scorer got his goals for the former champion side in their last match of the competition. His goals came in the 12th, 18th, 19th, 28th, 55th, 67th, 71st, 72nd, 73rd and 82nd minutes.
Darren Modeste led WASAs scoring with five goals22nd, 46th, 52nd, 63rd and 76th minutes.
The defeat did not affect Crab Connections position in the standings, as they finished second with 54 points.
Newly-crowned champion team Joe Public lost their first match of the second round, going under 1-4 to Biwater Stokely Vale at Shaw Park in Tobago.
In a match in which star striker Nelson was sent off for abusive language to assistant referee Allan Granville, Joe Public scored first through Seon Power in the fifth minute.
The Tobagonians drew level in the 31st minute with a goal by Darian Skeete and then took full control in the second period with more goals coming through Michael Carrington in the 60th, 86th and 90th minutes.
