Biwater Stokely Vale enjoyed one of their best weekends in Tobago football, registering wins in the Super League and Womens Division.
In the Super League on Friday, Stokely Vale dispelled any doubts that champion Super League side Joe Public had that the first round victory at the Centre of Excellence was just luck. In that match the Vale team defeated Joe Public 4-1.
A second-half hat-trick by Michael Carrington erased any hope that the Michael McCommie-coached lads had of scoring victory over the only team who defeated them so far this season.
But the Stokely Vale women overcame a strong challenge from champion side St Clairs Coaching School on Saturday in clinching the league championship in their first year in the competition.
The Stokely Vale females played unbeaten, winning four times and drawing twice against Coaching School.
But the clubs battles werent over yet, as on Sunday the Vale boys featured in a keen and tense match of the Warner Group of Companies-sponsored Premier League. It took a dubious call by referee Steadman Kelly (controlling a second match on the trot, involving Coaching School), awarding a penalty which earned Coaching School a 2-2 draw, last season SSFL stand-out Keon Daniel notched the double for Coaching School.
Charlotteville Unifiers closed the gap on leaders Coaching School with a 2-1 victory over HV Milan at Roxborough. Duane Murray scored twice to give Unifiers the much-needed win and Garvin Richards replied for Milan.
Georgia got their second match off to a fair start, following a short tour to St Kitts. They drew 1-1 with Sideys, Leeton Warrick opening the scoring for Sideys and Atwell Phillips getting the equaliser.
Bethel United and Pepsi Hills played goalless while 1976 FC Phoenix defeated Mason Hall PYC 2-0 margin. Quincy Dillon and Ashley Mc Millan found the net for Phoenix.
