LEADERS Sports and Games FC Santa Rosa hammered Petrotrin Palo Seco 5-1 to stay top of the standings in the National Super League Premiership Division.
Petrotrin were reliant on an own goal, in the 57th.
Nonetheless, Santa Rosa remained four points ahead of Club Sando Moruga, who brushed aside Marabella Family Crisis Centre 4-1 at Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre.
Nigel John notched a double (43rd and 79th) while Akeil London (54th) and Jesse Edwards (85th) contributed one each.
Kevin Moodie got the consolation for Marabella, in the 63rd.
Defence Force stayed in third place after a 3-2 victory over Real Maracas at the Maracas Recreation Ground, St Joseph. For Defence Force, Aaron Lester got a pair (ninth and 27th) while Josimar Belgrave (16th) scored the other. Ex-national midfielders Marvin Oliver (13th) and Ryan Stewart (29th) responded for Real Maracas.
However, arguably the most lopsided result of the season took place at Irwin Park in Siparia, with Siparia Spurs demolishing Bethel United 8-1.
Andy London registered a hattrick (39th, 64th and 90th) while Marcus Kelly (77th and 82nd) contributed a double. Daniel Garcia (25th), Shavon Frederick (31st) and Darius Peters (80th) each scored once, while Akeil Pope netted the lone item for Bethel, in the 88th.
Tobago FC Phoenix 1976 were also in winners’ row on Sunday, courtesy of a 3-1 result over Guaya United at the Canaan Recreation Ground. Nigel Thomas (49th), Lejandro Williams (86th) and Dominic McDougall (90th) were the goal-getters for Phoenix, while Jody Allsop (58th) responded for Guaya.
And, at the St Mary’s Ground in St Clair, Queen’s Park and Matura ReUnited battled to a 2-2 draw.
The Parkites had a 2-0 lead after a double from Jared Bennett, in the sixth and 63rd, but Matura replied with items from Keston Jones (71st) and Kerin Vincent (90th).
The match between Police and WASA, which was carded to take place at the St James Barracks, was postponed due to a waterlogged field.
